Ballroom at the Ben Wedding with Belly Dancers

Merchant's Exchange Building
Bride and groom at the Mechant’s Exchange Building

Nothing says classic Philly quite like a Ballroom at the Ben wedding! Natasha and Julian’s stunning day had one amazing surprise for the guests at their reception…Belly Dancers!  Such a beautiful wedding, so many smiles and laughs and pure joy. It was an honor to be part of such an amazing celebration of love.

Bridal Prep

Bridal Prep

Loews Philadelphia Hotel was the prep location for the bride and bridesmaids.  I was thrilled to once again work with Jenn Haines of Gloss Philly, one of our favorite hair and makeup artists. She’s honestly amazing. I never have to fix facial imperfections when Jenn does the makeup. She’s honestly that good. An elegant gown from Love Couture Bridal and flowers from Jennifer Designs made for a truly elegant look.

Ceremony

Old Saint James is the oldest Catholic church in Philadelphia. It has lots of old wood and beautiful gold and artwork.  I’ve been fortunate to photograph it several times.  You can feel the history of the building just by being there. It’s a very special place. I love that Natasha and Julian left the ceremony to go to our photo stop in a classic Chevy. SO romantic!

Photo Stop

The Merchant’s Exchange Building in Old City is a classic for wedding photos.  I joined the bridal party there for a some beautiful photos after the ceremony. I love the bride and groom portraits we took that day. Definitely make sure you get a permit for this location, so you can shoot undisturbed for a bit.

  1. This looks like such a beautiful classic wedding except for the fun twist with the belly dancers! I love the group shots in front of the Merchants Exchange Building. Great tip on making sure you get a permit so you can have space for uninterrupted photographs. The Ben looks like a wonderful venue to have a wedding reception. Great shots of the rings too!

  2. The Ballroom at the Ben is THE place to get married / have your wedding reception in Philly! I love how classic and beautiful a space it is, but the bride and groom were really able to make it the wedding of their dreams! The belly dancers! LOVE!

  3. Im amazed at how beautifully you captured this wedding! The Ballroom at the Ben is amazing and Philly is so lucky to have you as a wedding photographer! Her dress is so beautiful and you did a wonderful job capturing their day!

  4. I feel like the first sentence could read: “nothing says classic Philly quite like having Black White and Raw shoot your portraits around the city”… and since that would probably make you sound full of yourself I’ll say it for you! I love these portraits at the Ballroom at the Ben and how you used the classic Chevy car for photos after the ceremony. Such a perfect summary of a beautiful Philadelphia wedding day!
