Bride and Groom at Bryn Athyn College

Photo walk before an Emerald Ballroom wedding

I ADORE word of mouth referrals, especially when they lead to a fun summer wedding at the Emerald Ballroom!  There’s one particular group of friends, of whom we’ve been fortunate to photograph about 10 weddings for so far.  The first wedding of this group that we photographed had over 20 people in their bridal party. Since that day, we’ve photographed so many of that first bridal party getting married. We’ve photographed their siblings, their friends and now we’re photographing their pregnancies, new babies and family photos.  It’s always amazing to see the bridesmaids become brides, the groomsmen become grooms and seeing them and their families as guests, too. It’s been a real joy to be even a small part of watching this group as their families put down roots and grow.

Rebecca and Kevin’s summer wedding at the Emerald Ballroom was the latest we photographed from this group, and it was absolutely lovely.  They both got ready in family homes which is always such a personal and lovely way to start the day. The couple chose not to see each other until Rebecca walked down the aisle of their family church.  After family formals, we all met at Bryn Mar for some bride and groom portraits. We then headed to the Emerald Ballroom for a reception full of family, friends, great music and loads of fun.

Bride and groom at the Mechant’s Exchange Building

Nothing says classic Philly quite like a Ballroom at the Ben wedding! Natasha and Julian’s stunning day had one amazing surprise for the guests at their reception…Belly Dancers!  Such a beautiful wedding, so many smiles and laughs and pure joy. It was an honor to be part of such an amazing celebration of love.

Bridal Prep

Bridal Prep

Loews Philadelphia Hotel was the prep location for the bride and bridesmaids.  I was thrilled to once again work with Jenn Haines of Gloss Philly, one of our favorite hair and makeup artists. She’s honestly amazing. I never have to fix facial imperfections when Jenn does the makeup. She’s honestly that good. An elegant gown from Love Couture Bridal and flowers from Jennifer Designs made for a truly elegant look.

Ceremony

Old Saint James is the oldest Catholic church in Philadelphia. It has lots of old wood and beautiful gold and artwork.  I’ve been fortunate to photograph it several times.  You can feel the history of the building just by being there. It’s a very special place. I love that Natasha and Julian left the ceremony to go to our photo stop in a classic Chevy. SO romantic!

Photo Stop

The Merchant’s Exchange Building in Old City is a classic for wedding photos.  I joined the bridal party there for a some beautiful photos after the ceremony. I love the bride and groom portraits we took that day. Definitely make sure you get a permit for this location, so you can shoot undisturbed for a bit.

Reception

Ballroom at the Ben is always a perfect choice for classic Philly weddings. The staff is amazing and the building is stunning. Natasha and Julian surprised their guests with Belly Dancers! The performance was absolutely amazing. They were truly beautiful performers.
