Romantic Winter Wedding in Rittenhouse Square

Aliwedding-99

There is nothing more romantic than a Winter Wedding in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square.   The day started in the lovely bridal suite of Center City’s Radisson Blu Warwick.  For me, entering a hotel room on wedding day there is a flutter of nerves.  I always start with the details and as I begin removing wedding dresses from bags, jewelry from boxes, the brides often a bit frantic, I have very little time to formulate an image of this bride on her day, how to best showcase her most beautiful qualities as it all unfolds piece by piece.

Ali’s strapless tulle dress with crystal sweetheart bodice and tiered skirt by Hayley Paige Bridal was perfect even before she put it on.  Her Christian Louboutin’s seemed perfectly coordinated with the touches of red everywhere.  Beautiful bridesmaids in elegant long black dresses with small white bouquets, the perfect group of friends and family to surround Ali on her day.

After a lovely ceremony at Church of the Holy Trinity, we took a few minutes for some romantic shots of the bride and groom in the church and then out to Rittenhouse Square to watch Ali spin under the holiday lights with her handsome groom.  After last year’s winter bridal shoot with Lily Cheshire, I was thrilled to shoot a real winter wedding there, and want to make sure I do one every single year. The Center City holiday magic continued with my fight with the parking lot attendant to get my car out of the lot, but eventually I arrived at the Cescaphe Ballroom to photograph Ali’s beautiful winter wedding decor with Christmas trees, white roses and poinsettas, gold trimmed plates, greenery and twinkling holiday lights.

Hair stylist on hand for a quick and pretty hairstyle change, we had a little time for some of my all time favorite empty ballroom shots. Ali and John then danced the night away to great music by EBE Paris surrounded by close family and truly lovely friends.  Thank you Ali and John.  It was a joy to be a small part of your perfect day!

And a huge thank you to our friends at Philly in Love, for featuring Ali and John’s beautiful wedding on your site as well. We are honored!

  1. The amount of stunning wedding formals of this bride and groom is incredible. From dramatic lighting and a killer venue, Black White and Raw nailed the wedding photography. The Cescaphe Ballroom made a jaw dropping wedding venue and that bridal gown by Hailey Paige Bridal seemed designed exclusively for that bride. You captured pure emotion all throughout this winter wedding in Rittenhouse Square.

  2. The precision of your detail shot is completely amazing. There’s so much gorgeous contrast in these images that helps lead the viewer to the genuine emotions on each persons’ face! Lovely winter wedding. I especially adore the images taken in the Cescaphe Ballroom.

  3. There is SO much that I love about this wedding, I don’t even know where to begin! Hayley Paige is one of my favorite wedding dress designers – my best friend is actually getting married in HP later this year! The skirt of that dress is just AMAZING. You killed those window shots! I love the details of the bride’s dressing robe, the stunning reception details, that first shot of her smiling and twirling… what a gorgeous wedding!!!

  4. What beautiful wedding photography! The Christmas lights in Rittenhouse Square are beautiful for this winter wedding in Philadelphia. Gorgeous work, I only wish this bride could have been photographed using natural light, her dress is simply to die for! The dancefloor images are amazing, great use of rim light! Love it!
